Link Liebe #4 – Link Love #4

WHAT caught my interest these past few weeks, because it was fascinating, weird, or made me laugh:

  • I first read the awesome news on The Mary Sue: A new season of one of my most favorite TV shows ever, Twin Peaks, will be filmed and air 2016 on Showtime. To tide you over, have a supercut of all the coffee scenes of that iconic show:
  • I admit it, I too can spend hour upon hour scrolling through the fantastic foodporn photography on Pinterest. But not everyone has the skill and means to do stylish food photos with proper lighting, decorative props, rustic wooden surfaces, fancy dishes et all. Some ... just take photos of their food. Welcome to the world of Amateurkochfotos (amateur food/cook photos).
  • Japanese artist Sakae creates breathtaking flower hair jewelry out of  wire and resin. Mind blown.

Immer Wieder Sonntags KW 39, 40, 41 & 42 – It's Sunday, Time And Time Again, Recap Weeks 39, 40, 41 & 42

WATCHED: An oldie but goldie: Trigun! :-) Trigun and Cowboy Bebop were pretty much the first anime shows I ever watched, and I've had a craving to re-watch both lately. Plus, anime episodes are blissfully short if you happen to have a hard time to focus on things in the evenings. ;-)
Terra X – I just love documentaries! ♥
Attack on Titan – from way old anime to brand new, hahah. The title kept popping up, plus, a good friend recommended it to me (Hey thar, Zedre! *waves* :D). And, what can I say, she was spot on.
Outlander, love, love, love the series!
READ: Just a wee little bit more of Jim Butcher's Summer Knight. And added one more book on my pile to read, the first volume of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander.
LISTENED: Currently I'm completely addicted to: Lana Del Rey – West Coast (Camo & Krooked Remix)
And also to: London Grammar – Strong (Manila Killa Remix)
DONE: Much. Finally got my crooked glasses fixed. Only took me nearly a year, if not longer, hahah. Unfortunately the optometrist advised me to get new ones ASAP, since this pair probably wont hold up much longer. Ugh. Glasses are horribly, horribly expensive, and my health insurance doesn't cover them. :(
Got rid of the landslide on my desk, hurray! :D
And the dust bunnies underneath my desk too! :D
And actually tidied up and cleaned the rest of my place too! :D Boy, was it necessary. I feel so accomplished now.
Decorated my sideboard for autumn.♥
Managed to go somewhat through with my resolution to practice meditation daily almost daily at least occasionally, using some guided meditation videos from youtube for now. I'm under the impression it does some. At least the days on which I practiced morning meditation seemed to go a lot better than the ones on which I didn't.
Spent my first weeks at the new workplace over in Mainz (same employer, different store and town). Didn't go as well as I'd hoped (when does it ever), but not as bad as I'd imagined either. Apparently it is not the end of the world as I know it, and working there definitely has its perks. I try my best to keep in mind all good and to not worry too much about the bad points for now. Every day is full of opportunities, and there actually are quite a few that I wasn't aware of.
ATE: Asia style stir-fry with veggies and noodles. Note to self: Leave out the coconut cream next time. Potato curry with red lentils. Potato curry with carrots and zucchini. Thuna pizza. Sandwiches. Fried chicken with peanut sauce. Potato curry with rice and other veggies thrown in. Chocolate, chocolate coated peanuts, and home made sweet popcorn. Steak. Zucchini with rice and mozarella. Zucchini casserole. And plenty more stuff, three weeks is too long to remember it all, and I forgot to take pictures.
DRUNK: Water, iced tea, orange lemonade, country coffee, real coffee, woodruff soda, ginger ale.
THOUGHT: Honestly, I don't know what to think right now. Severe mood swings are severe.
ENJOYED: Sitting in the warm sunshine and admiring the colorful miniature rainbows my suncatchers cast on the wall.
Taking longlong autumn walks.
Exploring Mainz after work.
Despite being forced to shell out money for a monthly pass for public transportation now, and to commute on a daily base to Mainz, I actually do enjoy the freedom it gives me.
That my new co-workers seem to be a very nice bunch, and that I even quite like my new store manager. I'll do my best to not disappoint them.
That the co-workers at my old workplace got me a good-bye gift: A gorgeous super colorful flower bouquet (just how I like them!), a card, and a Douglas (German beauty store chain) voucher. As my former manager explained, the thought was, to get me a voucher which would enable me to get something not for my apartment, not for my hobbies, but something just for myself. That is a very sweet and nice thought, and much appreciated. *hugs* I used it to get my first two MÄC eyeshadows ever, Patina and Sumptuous Olive, a luxury I never would have permitted myself to spend money on. ♥
Actually ending up with some leftover money last month. Onto the savings account it goes, because I know I will need it.
Taking a shower with scented candles lit on the toilet seat, vanilla-cardamom scented shower cream, and lip-synching to Ellie Goulding. What. So I don't have a fancy bathtub to take relaxing bubble baths in.
Spending a whole Saturday off (YES! Miracles do still exist! I got a Saturday off without receiving a call!!) with Mister H. I invited him over for dinner, and afterwards we took a walk, rode the tram up the Neroberg, and then walked back to my home in the golden October sunlight. Damn, did that feel good!
Mom's birthday dinner.
Unexpectedly getting to go on vacation with my niece and sister again this year. It was pretty much coincidence my vacation starts just a day after the two of them leave for Butjadingen at the North Sea. My sister persistently nudged me to take a bus or train and come join them, since the vacation home was already paid for anyway, and there's plenty of space for one additional person. So that's what I'm going to do! :D
My mom complimenting my makeup, and saying I'd have to teach her how to do it some day. Whoa. o///o
LAUGHED: Sure did, and surprisingly much at work :D
ANNOYED: My place being infested by fruit flies.
Public transportation: It's stuffy, people spread their germs, I end up sitting in the draft, the bus being so late I could have walked the distance (thankfully on my way home), passengers behind me with the volume on their mp3 player turned up so loud they're bound to be deaf in a year or so, crying children, and so on. The list continues endlessly. And I promptly caught a cold.
Oh, and train personnel strikes, ugh. I really hope they wont be on strike the day I need to get to Frankfurt for my bus to North Germany....
WISHED: To know where I was heading.
BOUGHT: Hm, yes, so I splurged a little, with all the fabulous shopping options Mainz has to offer. Especially the Müller beauty/drugstore with it's exclusive Cosnova (the company behind the budget friendly beauty brands Catrice and Essence) products. And I actually bought a beautycase for my vacation, ahahah.
PLAYED: Nope.
CLICKED: Plenty.
Terra X – Ich liebe Dokus! ♥
GETRUNKEN: Wasser, Eistee, Orangenlimo, Kaffee, Muckefuck, Waldmeisterlimo, Ginger Ale.
Was?
GESPIELT: Keinen Bock/keine Zeit
